A happy end for this fall

The end of the floating European fall boat shows season is coming! It started last September with Cannes and will end with Barcelona which will open tomorrow. This period means a complex organisation for a shipyard like ours. Indeed, we have to find boats to be exhibited at those different events on the Atlantic and Mediterranean coasts. Or these boats are already owned and it is fully understandable that they should show a little bit of concern in lending their lovely new boat.
Consequently, the same boats go to several boat shows. It is the case of the new Lagoon 620 2012. Her first presentation to the public was in Cannes and the boat was then taken to Genoa and now to the Barcelona boat show. I was lucky enough to be part of the crew for the 350 nautical miles between Genoa and Barcelona. I am no selfish guy so I shot this little video to share with you a piece of this fabulous and luxurious catamaran.
There were 3 of us onboard for this trip: the Lagoon skipper , the owner’s skipper and I. To sum up the sailing conditions that we had, I can say: we switched on the “Yanmar gust” in Genoa because there was no wind and turned it off at Fos-sur-Mer. We went north to have a good wind angle with the “tramontane” coming from thenorth westand put the sails up for the crossing of the Lion gulf because we had 20 to 45 knots. We were not there to break a speed record but we averaged 10 to 12 knots during this part of the trip toBarcelona with a large security margin (we kept in mind that we had to treat this boat as if she had been ours).
If you come to the Barcelona boat show, you will see this boat in perfect condition even after having sailed some 2 200 nautical miles since she was launched in Bordeaux last summer.
