The Atlantic Rally for Cruisers called ARC left the Canaria islands toward Caribbean sea last Sunday. This event is a « gentlemen offshore race » which gathers more than 200 boats to cross the Atlantic Ocean. The 2011 edition has registered 30 multihulls participants, among which 12 Lagoons. This places Lagoon as the first catamaran brand in term of units entering the rally, in front of Catana and Alliaura. The Atlantic Ocean is a good sea trial for a blue water cruising catamaran, isn’t it? Moreover, almost all the range is represented with two Lagoon 380s, one Lagoon 400, three Lagoon 420/421s, two Lagoon 440s, three Lagoon 560s and one Lagoon 620!
- « Are your catamarans just floating house or real boats?»
One of the pleasures of sailing apart from actually sailing is to find anchorages, desert beaches, to swim in a warm sea, to discover some fish, seascapes and to meet people… According to the different logs of sailing cruisers who have done a Mediterranean tour or an Atlantic tour, they sailed around 30 % of their time and spent around 70 % of it at an anchorage. It’s nice to have all the comfort of a house during this time, isn’t it? Lagoon catamarans are boats able to cross the Atlantic Ocean with a high level of comfort on the other side of the world as well!
- « Are your boats designed for charter business? »
Last year we sold more than 250 boats, which represents the most important sailing catamarans production in the world. Around 15 % of these boats were bought by charter companies, so that around 85 % were bought by private owners. So our catamarans are definitely made for private ownership in the first place: for sailors who appreciate comfort and space.
