“That’s not possible!”

It is with this exclamation that Eric Tabarly was welcomed on June 20, 1964 in Newport. after winning the Ostar transatlantic race and breaking its record. Without wanting to tarnish this part of history, the Lagoon 52 No. 1 also successfully completed her transatlantic crossing last January!
She sailed from La Rochelle in France for Saint Martin in the caribbean, and the weather conditions were very harsh for the first 1000NM: 15 to 40 knots headwinds, very rough seas. Later, and the trade winds finally allowing to sail downwind in 10 to 35 knots winds. During the 5000NM route, the Lagoon thus encountered all sorts of weather conditions.
It is with great pleasure that I invite you to revel during the 2 minutes of the video summary of this passage.
