Carlo Gobbetti had a childhood dream: To travel all over the world. With a quote by Saint Augustine in mind, “The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page”, he set off to read the pages of the world aboard his 620 called Feel so good.
I actually had two dreams: not only traveling, but also to have a villa by the sea, because I love fishing. One day I saw a 560 presented on television and decided to go to the Genoa Boat Show to check out Lagoons in person. As soon as I set foot on the 620 on display, I fell in love with this catamaran. She fulfilled my dreams of villas and travel.
My Lagoon agent, Alberto Munari, was an excellent surprise because he followed my round-the-world trip and has always helped out me since day one. He even accompanied us to Bordeaux to help me and the crew get to grips with the boat.
The 620 became my floating villa in the Maldives, the Seychelles, French Polynesia, Madagascar, Australia, the Galapagos Islands, the Caribbean and especially the Los Roques archipelago, my favorite destination.
At first, it wasn’t easy, as I’d never sailed before, but after a few days, I was able to stand watch alone at night. My wonderful crew is made up of Captain Stefano Pardini and Mirko Torrisi. They are able to maximize the performance of Feel so good while ensuring the upkeep of the boat.
On our travels, we crossed the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Oceans, and rounded the Cape of Good Hope. This is proof that Lagoons can easily be used for real offshore cruising. I remember one time in particular when we were surfing on a wave at 27.7 knots in the Atlantic, the boat’s handling was quite simply perfect.
