Brittany: North and West!

29 April 2022 | | Reading time 2 minutes

Written in association with Click&Boat, boat rental in Brittany.

This feature takes you to some of our most beautiful nautical escapes, all with a Breton accent. There are countless converts to the unique friendliness found in Brittany, both on the north coast as well as the south. If US/French singer Joe Dassin had more Celtic origins, he might have sung “l’Armorique, je veux l’avoir et je l’aurai.” Brittany awaits you, true to itself.

One Brittany, many destinations

Our favorites for sailing:

  • Lorient
  • Arzon
  • La Trinité sur Mer
  • La Forêt-Fouesnant
  • Les Ebihens: We could have sung the praises of Saint-Malo, the corsair city, and starting point of choice when bound for Cancale, Cap Fréhel or the Channel Islands. But our course is set for the Ebihens archipelago, no less than a little slice of paradise.
  • Belle-Île
  • Anse de Pen-Hir: Where is the most beautiful place in Brittany? That debate can never end. Let’s pull out of the hat a spectacular spot, little known to the wider public, especially non-mariners: the bay of Pen-Hir, just out of Camaret-sur-Mer. The bonus: you can then sail to the enchanting Crozon peninsula.
  • Concarneau
  • Port de la Croix: In the south of Hoedic island, in a most natural setting, you can forget the sometimes crowded-summer Brittany, and find the very essence of a wonderful boating trip: sea spray, authenticity and picture postcard landscapes to record with your eyes.
  • Archipel des Glénan: You could be under the sunlight of the Tropics, yet you remain in Brittany. If you aren’t lucky enough to have already been there, you must have seen an aerial shot of this unmissable archipelago. Wait no longer!

Our Breton top 10 from 2020 (by number of reservations):

  • Arzon
  • La Trinité-sur-Mer
  • Lorient
  • Vannes
  • Saint-Malo
  • Bénodet
  • La Forêt-Fouesnant
  • Brest
  • Dinard
  • Quiberon

So now you know the most beautiful corners of Brittany, you just have to come and discover them for yourself .
